
Sejong University
Sejong University is a private university located in Seoul, South Korea. Established in 1940, Sejong has been a highly reputable university in Korea. In 1978, this institution was named Sejong University in honor of Sejong the Great, the fourth king of the Chosun Dynasty and overseer of the Korean alphabet ‘Hangeul’ . Today, its dance education focuses on improving theoretical and artistic leadership skills, and the Department of Dance is devoted to creative education focusing on the method and creativity of dance education theory to dance students, We aim to foster healthy and elegant dance art experts by releasing human emotions and developing the mind and body through dance education. For this educational purpose, students are focusing on quality improvement, and theoretical and practical education under the guidance of excellent faculty members with our prominent curriculum and facilities.
Educational Goals:1 Equip students with systematic theory and art teaching capacity; 2 Foster top-class professional dance artists. Our graduates can be employed in the field of education or in creative pursuits. They may work as professional dancers in national or municipal dance organizations as well as private professional dance groups. They may become instructors or teachers in elementary, middle or high schools as well as in colleges. They may also pursue graduate studies. In addition, they can establish their own dance academy or work as dance instructors in private dance academies or dance centers as well as institutes for continuing education. It is also possible for them to find positions in various related fields adjacent to dance, such as performance production agencies, dance costumes design, stage lighting, dance music or dance film/images.
