Founded in 1883, The University is ranked 65th in the world by the QS World University Rankings 2025, making it New Zealand’s highest ranked university. The University’s Dance Studies Programme is New Zealand’s leading centre for postgraduate research in dance, becoming internationally recognised for its research in teaching and learning, choreographic practice and dance ethnography.
